O’Hara Corporation Purchases FCA Quotas and Vessel

Today, O’Hara Corporation purchased over half the quota shares and also the catcher processor vessel Alaska Spirit from the Fishing Company of Alaska (FCA). Ocean Peace Inc. of Seattle will purchase the remaining shares along with the catcher processor vessels Alaska Warrior and Alaska Victory.

“We could not be any happier for our company, all the crew, and our customers and vendors,” said Frank O’Hara Jr.

The new quota shares will offer diversification into species O’Hara Corp. did not have prior to completion of the deal. While we can currently catch flounders, sole, cod, and pollock, the new quotas will allow us to target species like Atka Mackerel, Pacific Ocean Perch, and other rockfishes.

We are looking forward to bringing on the FCA crew into our team. We know they will be happy with our family and way of catching, processing, and freezing some of the finest quality product Alaska has to offer.
